What educators are saying

Love using PowerPoints to teach my students skills. They are always highly engaged and can refer back to them on their Google Classroom's as often as possible!
I really enjoyed the powerpoint and practice examples, they were engaging and aligned with our standards.

Description

Are you searching for a step-by-step PowerPoint and resources where you can show your students the differences between narrative, informative, descriptive, and persuasive pieces of writing? You've come to the right place! These materials will help you do it! I include lesson plans where I explain how I use these resources over the course of two days. This bundle of activities can be used in a writing lesson at the beginning of the year to help your students understand these common academic writing terms that they will see throughout the year. I have also found it to be helpful to present this PowerPoint as a review shortly before spring testing season when students might benefit from being reminded what these writing genre terms mean and seeing strong examples of each.

This is what you get!

  1. Types of Writing 25-slide PowerPoint
  2. Definition Posters for Narrative, Informative, Persuasive, & Descriptive
  3. 2-Day Lesson Plan Summary (I explain how I used the materials in a third-grade classroom.)
  4. 4 Sample Paragraphs
  5. A Worksheet containing 4 passages
  6. Interactive Notebook Option

HERE'S THE SEQUENCE OF TOPICS COVERED IN THIS POWERPOINT:

Slides 1-4: Introduction

Slides 9-11: Informative Pieces of Writing
