What educators are saying

Perfect for my classroom bulletin board. Serves as a great resource for the class to reference back to

Description

I created these posters for my social studies classes last year. Each poster features a different type of government and contains easy-to-understand definitions of each form. Posters also include images representing each of the following eight forms of government:

*Oligarchy

*Monarchy

*Republic

*Theocracy

*Autocracy

*Direct Democracy

*Representative Democracy

*Anarchy

Engaging Activity Idea: I laminated mine, hung them around the room, and had students move to each of them in 2-minute increments (stations). They used Post-Its and made an "Advantages & Disadvantages" chart on the wall beneath each poster. I also asked students to see if they could determine what form of government the US used. Students guessed "Representative Democracy" and "Republic". Finally, I explained that they were all partially correct because the US is a "Democratic Republic", a mixture of the two.
