Types of Chemical Reactions Activity

Types of Chemical Reactions - A Sorting Activity - Rather than telling your students how to classify chemical reactions, guide them with this activity and they'll discover it on their own. With this resource, students will use sorting cards to classify groups of chemical reactions, assign them a generic formula, a definition, and a name. They will then transfer this information to a provided graphic organizer, which will serve as their notes/resource page.

Large and small sized sorting cards provided, teacher directions with pictures, and all answer keys included.

This is hands-down one of my favorite "learn by discovery" lessons. It is frustrating for students, which is kind of great. This lesson is spot on for grades 8 and 9 and takes approximately 1 hour.
