Two Truths and a Lie (about pregnancy!) Activity Google Slides

These slides will allow you to assess what your students know about the biological processes of conception, prenatal health, and symptoms of pregnancy. On each slide there are three statements - two that are true and one that is false. Your students will decide which one is the lie.

There are many adaptations you can make of this activity to make it fit into your lesson plans. You can use it as an introduction activity at the beginning of the unit, a research opportunity during the unit, or a review activity at the end. You could even turn it into a group competition or game! As it is on Google Slides, everything is editable.

I used these slides at the beginning of a Pregnancy and Birth unit in my Child Development class. I converted the slides into a Pear Deck where my students took a guess which one was the lie and selected the statement on their own device. I could then share the anonymous results on the screen as we discussed the answers. (Answers and quick explanations are also included in the notes section.) Instructions for how to incorporate the Pear Deck Add-On are included, but you could simply have your students participate without it!
