What educators are saying

AWESOME lesson that I used with my US History kiddos, super engaging and fun! They knew I loved Tupac so this fit right in.
I loved this resource and found it so cool and helpful to teach my students about fact based writing.

Description

My students are obsessed with conspiracy theories and with Tupac! In fact, I had one of my first truly magical moments in the classroom when I brought in Tupac lyrics. I was surprised that they even knew who he was, but the students' eyes lit up and they were engaged for the first time that year. The students loved Tupac so much that they bought me Tupac & Biggie figurines to sit on my desk. They were trying to tell me something more about this!!!

While the assignment is high interest for your reluctant learners, it is also highly important for the whole class, as it targets evidence and analysis thinking skills for improvement in their writing. Please be assured, the podcast, while engaging, deals responsibly with the truth and presents a balanced narrative that ultimately ranks unfounded conspiracies.

You are busy, so the supports provided mean that you do not have to pre-listen to the podcast to assess student work. There are rigorous notes of relevant evidence provided to you. Students can work independently on this task, and it works well in school or from home.
