Description

In this highly-engaging Tulsa Race Massacre CSI investigation, students investigate the causes of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Students take on the role of detectives as they seek to uncover the history behind the infamous Tulsa Race Massacre. This investigation engages students about the Greenwood District, "Black Wall Street," Tulsa segregation, the rise of lynchings, and the elevator incident that prompted the violence.

This resource is included in my CSI American History Bundle and my Roaring '20s and 1930s Unit Bundle!

This CSI focuses on three questions that students attempt to answer:

1.) What was Tulsa like both before and after the massacre took place?

2.) What events led to the Tulsa Race Massacre?

3.) What obstacles did Tulsa residents face, both during the massacre and afterward?

To conclude, students submit a briefing report to the Department of Homeland Security where they outline answers to the above questions.

A Google 1:1 compatible version is included in this product! Use in either a traditional setting or in the 1:1 environment!

A full key is included!
