Description

Hello Math Teachers! Transform your classroom with our exciting new geometry transformations worksheet! Designed for Pre-Algebra students who are new to performing transformations, this activity will also serve as a great review assignment for Geometry students. This two-sided PDF worksheet focuses on making two consecutive transformations of points, line segments, and polygons through translations, rotations, and reflections on a coordinate plane. To make the activity even more engaging, we recommend using red and blue colored pencils.

This in-class activity comes with a key, making it easy for you to grade and provide feedback to your students. So why wait? Download this worksheet today and see your students' math skills transform before your eyes!

Compatibility

For optimal use, I highly recommend printing this resource. While digital tools can be incredibly useful in many contexts, some of the questions in this resource involve tasks that are best completed with a pen or pencil and paper. Printed versions of the resource provide students with the physical space they need to work through these tasks and fully engage with the material.

Math Standards

Aligned with common core standards 7.G.1, 8.G.1.4 8.G.A.3. Understand that a two-dimensional figure is congruent to another if the second can be obtained from the first by a sequence of rotations, reflections, and translations; given two congruent figures, describe a sequence that exhibits the congruence between them. Florida’s 8th Math B,E.S.T. standards MA.8.GR.2 Understand similarity and congruence using models and transformations. MA.8.GR.2.1 Given a preimage and image generated by a single transformation, identify the transformation that describes the relationship. MA.8.GR.2.3 Describe and apply the effect of a single transformation on two-dimensional figures using coordinates and the coordinate plane.
