Description
I use Key Points when graphing parent functions. Then, I apply transformation to these key points to help my students comprehend the effect of the numbers incorporated in the rule of the function. If you do the same, I really, really, really hope that you like this product which consists of 6 pages.
On every page, I included the graph of the absolute value function with its keypoints (for emphasis) in the upper half of the page. In the bottom half, I introduced the different transformations as follows:
• Page 2: Reflection across the x-axis with the corresponding transformed "Key Points"
• Page 3: Vertical Translation up/down with the corresponding transformed "Key Points"
• Page 4: Horizontal Translation with the corresponding transformed "Key Points"
• Page 5: Stretching and Compressing with the corresponding transformed "Key Points"
• Page 6: Handout which has all of the above transformation to share with students.
I used an example of transforming by 2 to hit the target.
I would love to know if you like this product and if you use KEY POINTS in your teaching of the different parent functions. ☺Would love to hear your feedback☺. Please don't forget to come back and rate this product when you have a chance. You will also earn TPT credits. Enjoy and I ☺thank you☺ for visiting my ☺Never Give Up On Math☺ store!!!
