Description
This is a bundle based around the Tongan text “Ngatu: Keeping the Tradition Alive” from School Journal, level 2, June 2018.
Reading
This resource includes a digital version of the text including comprehension questions (literal and inferential) on each page.
Maths
The maths section of this bundle is based around geometry and transformations. It teaches reflection, rotation and translation and looks at traditional patterns and how they've been made. The students get the chance to create their own ngatu/patterns using transformations.
Art
After practice, the students can use their patterns to create ngatu. This can be done on paper or material.
Writing
The writing task is an explanatory/expository piece of writing, with a success criteria.
