What educators are saying

This resource is amazing! My students really enjoyed manipulating the characters to create different scenarios. I can't wait to see what else you have in store! Please keep these coming!
My students loved being able to do the simulation game, and get a little glimpse at the different things passengers could do on the Titanic.

Description

Can YOU survive the sinking of the Titanic? Join us on an interactive adventure where characters decide their fate! This highly engaging gamified activity is an excellent introduction/hook to a unit or can be used as a high-interest narrative or research project. The characters included are real-life people, such as Captain Smith, Molly “Unsinkable” Brown, Bruce Ismay, and Leah Aks. Primary sources and clipart are present to give a gamified real-life experience!

In this gamified activity, students will assume the role of a character or passenger.  *NOTE each character has a personalized storyline, and the activity should be completed in PRESENT MODE to avoid overlap.

As students continue throughout the story, they will make simple decisions to determine their passenger’s survival. Students will progress forward by CLICKING the BUTTONS on the SCREEN, NOT ON THE KEYBOARD!! A simple tracker is attached for students to keep track of their adventures. When done, students can use that information to write journal entries, a narrative, or research their characters’ real stories to compare to their own.

This activity is great for grades 3-5 and takes 30-90 minutes to complete.
