Description

This lesson pairs with the FREE POWERPOINT called FAMOUS MONSTER ART.

Using an empty tissue box, students will design and construct a monster with an emotion. Their monsters will be ferocious, happy, silly, annoyed or even confused! The art project touches on several elements of art including pattern, texture and 3-D form. The art movement of expressionism is also explored.

The Box Monster Eye Ideas sheet is the key to helping students communicate a feeling. It includes over 24 examples and directions on how to do it. The Eye White and Black Center sheets help teachers cut down on prep time.

Once students know how to show expressions, the emotions they will be able to convey are endless!

Language Arts and writing connection ideas under the Teacher Notes.
