Tiny Tim Nursery Rhyme (I Had a Little Frog) Music Class Activities & Literacy
Description
This fun nursery rhyme "I had a little frog, his name was Tiny Tim" is a great way for pre-k and kindergarten to practice rhythm & rhyme, steady beat and tracking left to right. Following the activities of this with students as they enter into reading and 1st grade will help them learn to read the rhyme - cross-curricular literacy tool. (note: I've also seen this rhyme as "I had a little turtle, his name was Tiny Tim."
Included:
- Stick notation
- Hand motions
- Pictures for the rhyme
- Words to the rhyme with pictures
- Words to the rhyme with no pictures (for reading or center activity)
- Small pictures to use at centers to match to the words.
- Display/Poster - Words to the rhyme - student friendly
For best results, print copies of this for students to track the words with their finger. Slides can be used as well, but if you're wanting the literacy piece to really work, students touching the words is helpful.
