Timeless is a television show that aired on NBC from 2016-2018. The premise of the show is very unique- the main characters go back in time each episode to a different major event in history that is in danger of being changed. Sometimes they save history, but occasionally the timeline is altered. There are several historical figures portrayed in each episode of Timeless which really makes this show a lot of fun for history lovers! Parents and teachers will learn as much as students by all the fact-checking this show invites!
This elective combines learning about the major historical event featured in each episode of the show, Timeless, with a student-led Decades study. Students should watch an episode, then fill out the worksheets after researching the historical event. There are 4 worksheets to fill out for each episode that students may complete in any order. These worksheets can also be used as discussion starters, instead of completing the worksheets for grades.
Included in this download for each episode (80 pages total):
- 2 pages to record research about each major historical event. When I teach this to a group of students, we fill out some of this together in class.
- 1 page to take notes while watching each episode - students record things from the episode that they want to discuss further like favorite scenes, noteworthy lines, and historical accuracy of the event portrayed.
- 1 page to record information about the decade featured in the episode. Topics researched are music, fashion, literature, food, film, trends, etc.
- ANSWER KEY for each episode - includes all answers and links to background information about every historical figure and event featured in the episode. Includes all answers and links for the comprehensive Decades Study attached to each lesson.
