Description

This is an all-year Word Work packet for 3rd Graders. Spelling Patterns are introduced in Phonics Focused Short Stories and reinforced daily in different Reading and Writing Activities. These word work worksheets promote word recognition, vocabulary development and text comprehension, which makes them a great addition to your Third Grade Literacy Centers and Small Groups!

Each week's activities focus on two to three spelling patterns, suffixes, or prefixes. There is a short story written with heavy phonics focus on the 3rd grade spelling patterns being taught, and several activities that focus on reading, writing, phonics, and spelling.

The Word Work activities in these Third Grade worksheets consist of reading a story and identifying target words, writing sentences, putting the Word Work words in alphabetical order, identifying sound and spelling patterns, and using the target words in context.

As students become familiar with the format of this resource they can work independently! This is a student and teacher friendly resource!
