Theme CD Project

This project is a quick and fun way to make sure students understand the basic concept of theme. The students will be asked to create a CD and CD Case out of paper. They will come up with tens songs that have the same theme and write them on the case. The students will then fill in a disc template on which they will define the word "theme". While this assignment seems very simple, students will still have fun linking about their favorite music and tying the music to the concept at hand. The file contains brief directions, a disc template, and a rubric. It has everything to need to get started with this project. This activity will have your students rejoicing!

Everyday leading up to this activity I played two songs at the beginning of class to get the students thinking about theme in relation to songs they hear every day.
