Theatre Sub Lesson - Superheroes Characterization Activity (3 days!)

An easy, creative, and engaging 3 day sub plan! This activity keeps students‘ brains and hands busy as they design and create their own hero or villain, delving into the world of characterization and design.

This is a perfect activity for intro to characterization and design.

Day 1 - Create Your Superhero

• Capturing Kids’ Hearts “Good Thing”
• Warm up question
• Students create an original superhero/villain though guided questions.
• Students design a super suit for their superhero/villain

Day 2 - Create Your Secret Identity

• Capturing Kids’ Hearts “Good Thing”
• Warm up question
• Students answer characterization questions to flesh out their character’s secret identity
• Students design their character’s secret identity

Day 3 - Create Your Home Base

• Capturing Kids’ Hearts “Good Thing”
• Warm up question
• Students create a set design for their character’s secret lair and bedroom
