What educators are saying

This resource was a great way to incorporate daily writing in my classroom and I loved the option for drawing a picture at the end for early finishers.
Great resource. Well organized for each chapter ( and small chapters together) and the questions are engaging for the students

Description

Are you looking for a great way to include writing with your read aloud of Peter Brown's book, "The Wild Robot?"

These Wild Robot Writing Prompt Pages are a great way to get your kids writing about what they read and help them with their comprehension of the story. A fun and popular story for kids, they will love writing and drawing about the story.

Read the book, "The Wild Robot" by Peter Brown, out loud to your class and then use these writing prompts to go along with each chapter. This book has 80 chapters and due to many chapters being very short, this prompt includes one writing prompt per 1 or 2 chapters. When finished, there is a space to draw a picture about their writing.

Includes:

  • 1 writing prompt page asking for their prediction of the book based on title and cover.
  • 53 writing prompt pages - one for each 1 or 2 chapters. Prompts go with the chapter and help gage their comprehension of the story as well as tap in to their imaginations.
  • 2 writing prompt pages for the end of the story - one for their summary of the story and one for their opinion on if they liked the book or not.
  • 1 full length writing page for those students who like to write more

Each page features a unique writing prompt, followed by space for independent response. There is also an extra writing page for students that want to write longer stories. When finished writing, there's a section for self-checking and an opportunity for students to illustrate their thoughts.

Print out and put into a binder for a daily writing folder. I create all of my writing prompt sets to look the same so they can be put together in writing folders or bound together for full year writing prompt books.

Perfect for kids in 3rd, 4th and 5th grade.
