Description

This LOW-PREP Three Billy Goats Gruff Reader's Theater resource is a FUN way to get students engaged in reading and identifying figurative language! It also SAVES TIME by practicing reading and completing language arts activities all in the same lesson! The script is written for upper elementary students but contains parts suitable for readers who are below grade level.

This resource includes:

  • a funny reader's theater script with parts for seven readers - great for small groups
  • four different worksheets on figurative language - differentiated: the last worksheet can replace three of the others for your higher-level students
  • worksheet on comparative and superlative adjectives that is closely tied to the script
  • a cute figurative language anchor chart
  • character identification sheets for each character - I punch two holes in them, knot a piece of yarn in each hole, and string them around students' necks to identify which character they are reading. You could also just paper clip the sheets to the student's shirts.

The figurative language types in this resource are: simile, alliteration, onomatopoeia, personification, repetition, and idioms.
