Description
This bundle combines 3 of my most popular products pertaining to the six essential/basic/primary nutrients. With this product you have everything you need for at least 5 classes of instruction on protein, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals and water. You are getting 3 pieces in one with this product:
- Instructional Powerpoint: The Powerpoint presentation will help you guide students through the exploration of the six essential nutrients: protein, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, and water. Students will learn why each of these nutrients is important, different types, and what foods are rich sources of each. It is interactive, with GIFs, video links, and plenty of images to illustrate key points. This powerpoint includes 2 review games to use as closures or motivating tasks: "Protein, Fat, or Carb?" Sorting Game, and notable characters stories with nutrient connections. These games help students reinforce the nutrition concepts while having fun! The powerpoint concludes with some brief images connecting the six nutrients to the Nutrition Facts Label, which helps a person to know if they are consuming sufficient amounts of each nutrient. You can use this Powerpoint for teacher-centered instruction or student-paced work in a hybrid, remote, or asynchronous instructional model! It is in Powerpoint format so you can edit the slides and add or remove parts to fit your own instructional needs.
- Notes Sheet: It is perfect for students who need a bit of extra assistance or scaffolding of information, and of course for the whole class if desired. Students will be able to clearly record all the pertinent information on the six essential nutrients, making studying easier later! Includes: Blank Word Version (Editable), Blank PDF Version, and Key in PDF Format
- Follow-Up Activity: Learning is about applying new knowledge to our real lives. This activity worksheet helps students to do this after learning about the six essential/basic/primary nutrients. I use this activity as a follow-up to instruction on the Six Basic Nutrients and the sources thereof. Students will complete a food diary (tracking food intake over 1 day) or a food recall (remembering what they ate in the last day). Then, they will break down these meals and snacks into ingredients and nutrients that each provides. There are sections for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and 2 snacks. A conclusion and reflection prompt is also included to help synthesize this application task. This is a great way for students to begin to consider how their own diet fulfills their scientific nutrient needs on a daily basis.A word and PDF version are included so you may edit as needed if you choose to.
