With this webquest, students will navigate six different online accounts related to the Salem Witch Trials, and analyze the similarities and differences between each account of the event.

The accounts of this event are in a variety of formats, from multiple sources (court testimony, diaries, and articles).

Students will determine whether each document is a firsthand or secondhand account, the author's purpose, and analyze for important details/information.

In addition to supporting the common core informational text standards involving multiple accounts of the same event/topic, this product also supports common core informational writing standards. Included with this product is a text-based writing prompt and planning sheet, requiring students to inform about the Salem Witch Trials.
