Description

This easy to read, one page passage about the rock cycle:

  • outlines 3 different types of rocks: sedimentary, igneous, and metamorphic
  • explains how they are formed through erosion and cementation, volcanic activity, and heat and pressure
  • gives examples of each type of rock

The passage comes with 10 multiple choice reading comprehension questions, an answer key, and 2 self-scoring digital versions - EASEL and Google Forms. Color and black line illustrations are included to accommodate black and white printing.

The passage also has a companion YouTube video. Show the video before or after reading the passage to increase student comprehension. It provides a great modification for students who need a read aloud option.
