The Rhythm of the Rain Book Buddy - Water Cycle
- PDF
Description
The activities in this pack are based on the book, The Rhythm of the Rain, written and illustrated by Grahame Baker Smith.
Filled with beautiful illustrations, the story begins with a young boy playing in a small mountainside pool. He holds a glass jar with water, and just as it begins to rain, he pours the water from his jar into a stream. There we ride along as the water from the jar makes its way around the world and back again.
A fantastic adventure that allows you to introduce the water cycle through a story. And they say that stories are up to 22 times more memorable than facts alone. Isn’t that great for all of us story lovers?
I enjoy this book very much. I can get lost in the pictures and it makes me feel an enormous sense of gratitude for this amazing planet we call home.
These activities have been designed for ELLs so you’ll find lots of vocabulary and pictures. I have also included material to work on the water cycle for those of you that need it. I’ve included fun fact cards that my students love, water cycle posters, vocabulary cards with definitions, printables, and a flip book.
