So beautiful and informative posters and books. My students had so much fun with the activities in the pack. The information was interesting and easy for them to retain.

Description

Buy the bundle and SAVE: Nonfiction Resources for the YEAR

Come along on an adventure through the rainforest! Your students will be enthralled with the unbelievable facts about the animals and plants of the rainforest! The real-life photographs will blow them away!

In this 143 page packet, your students will learn:

  • What Is the Rainforest?
  • Where Is the Rainforest?
  • Animals of the Rainforest
  • Plants of the Rainforest
  • The Rainforest Layers (Emergent Layer, Canopy, Understory, and Forest Floor)
  • People of the Rainforest
  • What Is Happening to the Rainforest?
  • How to Help Save the Rainforest

I've also provided eight detailed articles about the following rainforest animals. These articles are DETAILED and include VIVID photographs.

  • Jaguar
  • Gorilla
  • Spider Monkey
  • Poison Dart Frog
  • Blue Morpho Butterfly
  • Sloth
  • Toucan
  • Anaconda

Part 1: Posters to hang in your classroom and to use while introducing your unit on the rainforest (real life photographs along with important vocabulary).

Part 2: All About the Rainforest" - These article pages were designed as a way for you to "hook" your students at the beginning of your rainforest unit. You can display the article pages on your document camera as a whole group or print and display during small group instruction.

Part 3: Differentiated All About the Rainforest Mini-Books - These are differentiated mini-books that can be used during small group instruction. There are three versions. Each version is slightly easier than the last. I wanted to give you options because I know that many of our students come in reading at different ability levels. It is up to you to pick and choose which articles you use with your groups. You can either print in color and laminate or print them in grayscale. Text-Dependent Response sheets follow!

Real life photographs will enhance your students understanding of the rainforest. I've also provided sheets for students to write a summary.

Part 4: True/False All About the Rainforest Activity - After learning facts about the rainforest, students will sort the sentences according to whether they are true or false. I've also provided a cut/paste sheet too that requires students to read simple sentences and glue them in the correct column.

Part 5: Graphic Organizers Galore - These graphic organizers, vocabulary books, and independent practice sheets can be used however you wish! I tried to offer you many different options to help meet the needs of your diverse group.

In addition, I've also included links to some fabulous All About the Rainforest web resources and books!

Please download the Preview to see some of what is included!
