Description

Suspense is a great way to engage your students and help them improve their reading comprehension skills! That is why I wrote The Old Mallory Place, a high interest tale of a mysterious past that haunts the present. The cliffhanger ending gives your students an opportunity to write their own ending- they get to tell what they think happened!

This resource is the perfect combination of fact and fiction. The 39 page resource contains a complete short story, 2 informational text passages, and numerous lessons, as well as, answer keys. I also have added annotations in my text because I have found that it helps to guide reading and bring the students "into the text".

  • This "Just Print and Teach" lesson is now digital! There is an Easel activity and an assessment over the nonfiction owl passage.
  • You still have the PDF format, but now you have more teaching options!
