What educators are saying

This resource saved me while planning my Odyssey unit. I needed a resource that focused in on the most important stories in the odyssey, and this resource does that very well. The questions are rigorous and push student thinking, and the answer sheets were helpful!

Description

[THIS IS FOR THE VERSION TRANSLATED BY EMILY WILSON]

The Odyssey is one of the hardest books in literature to teach, but not anymore!

Skip the boring parts, zoom in on the important lines, and guide students to a literal understanding that will lay the framework for deeper discussions and access to the story's greatest themes!

Instead of having students slog through the ENTIRE text of The Odyssey, jump right to the specific passages, lines, and moments to guide students to a deeper understanding of the themes and motifs of this epic tale!

This product does not exist anywhere else. It includes in-depth answers to every question as well as Teacher Recommendations at the end of each Chapter.

These TWELVE STUDENT-READY CLASSWORKS include:

1) 4-5 of the most important questions for each major chapter.

2) Page numbers and Line Numbers for students to zoom in on for their questions. Questions will guide students to the most important sections and allow them to hyper-focus on the important parts, without getting bogged down with the difficult language and long descriptions.

3) Summaries of the parts of the story that students will skip, so the story still makes sense AND you can skip the boring parts!

4) Answer Sheets for every classwork, including Teacher Summaries that provide helpful hints and guides for deepening understanding and ideas for essays and projects!

This is a plug-and-play product. Students can utilize this on their own or in groups, for homework or in class. You can read with them or have them read independently.

After using this product, all you will need to do is decide which discussions to emphasize, which projects to put into place around the literal understanding of the book, and which essays you think students will engage with the most.
