The Nutcracker: Story Cards and Stick Puppet Character Play

One of the most beautiful stories and ballets is The Nutcracker.

This is a great introductory set for your children or students to this story. The cards are fun to use to identify each character. After identifying the characters, read the story to your children. There are so many versions, but the new Nutcracker story book by Jan Brett is my personal favorite! Children can cut out the paper puppet characters and paste or tape them to Popsicle sticks to create stick puppets. Provided are four background scenes to help make the story come alive during puppet play. What a fun activity this would be during poetry/reading time or a literature corner during the holidays!
