The Program:
Through the examination of artifacts, students learn the impact of various inventions on society. This program supported by weekly and monthly lessons, field trips, fictional and nonfictional literature, guest speakers, parent participation, student- designed projects and artifacts displayed. The students learn about changing societal mores as reflected in schools, fashions, books machines, toys advertising, propaganda, home furnishings, travel and related topics of student interest. Students see history come alive as they interview, research, discuss, and view demonstrations by teachers and volunteers. Students write and reflect about actual artifacts used in various historical periods.
