The Night Before Easter--A Reader's Theater (Rhyming Page & Headbands Included)
- PDF
Description
The Night Before Easter is a wonderful children's book written by Natasha Wing. Here is a four-character Reader's Theater based on this book that your students will love to read!
Reader's Theaters are valuable because they promote reading fluency and reading with expression. They also allow your students to practice their reading foundational skills.
You may practice this Reader's Theater in a reading group or in a reading center. Students may present the The Night Before Easter to another class, the principal, before an assembly, etc. You may even want to include this in an Easter/Spring program for parents! (A bunny headband is included to copy if you would like to make a headband or necklace.)
The script also comes in a color-coded version.
Students love playing the parts of the different characters. If just used for reading practice, students can try the other character's parts after they have mastered their roles.
I love doing Reader's Theaters because the boys and girls are so excited to "play" a part. They truly promote a love of reading and books!
Have fun with this, and please feel free to change it in any way that you feel would benefit your class.
