Description
The Missouri Compromise and it's significance leading up to the Civil War is such an important part of history for kids to know and understand. This internet scavenger hunt / Webquest activity is a great way to keep your students engaged while learning about the Missouri Compromise and studying American history. While completing this WebQuest, students will learn about the history behind The Missouri Compromise, its significance, what it was like to have strong feelings on one side of the issue or the other.
In addition, students will explore websites containing information about the compromise and use this information to put themselves in the shoes of a free state politician to write a speech taking a position against admitting Missouri to the Union as a slave state.
