This was great for my 2nd grade class preparing for First Communion while we learned about the parts of the Mass. They enjoyed it. It did take them a little longer than I anticipated to write out the words, but they got it done!
This was a great resource to use with my 6th grade students. It was engaging and they enjoyed the artistic side of the assignment.

Interactive Visual Notes for Learning about The Mass - Catholic Education
This doodle note page covers the parts of the Catholic Mass
- Liturgy of the Word (1st reading, psalm, 2nd reading, Alleluia, Gospel, Homily)
- Liturgy of the Eucharist (Offertory, Eucharistic Prayer, The Lord's Prayer, Sign of Peace, Breaking the Bread, Communion, Prayer After Communion)
- Alternate version with Liturgy of the Word and Liturgy of the Eucharist each on a separate page
When students color or doodle in class, it activates both hemispheres of the brain at the same time. There are proven benefits of this cross-lateral brain activity:
- new learning
- relaxation
- visual connections
- better memory & retention of the content!
Students fill in the sheets, answer the questions, and color, doodle or embellish. Then, they can use it as a study guide later on.
