My Honors students used this assignment and did a pretty good job digging into the text to find quotes. This is the second year I have used this resource. I am very happy with the one pager.
This was a perfect way to break up our traditional format of reading & discussing texts in class. My students really enjoyed the creative freedom. My students worked on this for almost a week and it gave me some time to get caught up on grading/planning as well.
Description
This is a one-pager for the short story, "The Landlady," by Roald Dahl. Students have a lot of fun creating the rooms and I have received some outstanding work using this as an assessment instead of giving them a standard multiple choice/essay test. It is something different that they will enjoy. Students still have to cite evidence using the text, but they also get to be imaginative and create visuals.
