Description

The Iraq War, Operation Iraqi Freedom (Text, Maps & Questions)

Thank you for considering this fully editable product. Prepare to be surprised and delighted! This product contains fascinating informational text exploring the Iraq War, also commonly called Operation Iraqi Freedom. This product also has excellent maps (unique and original), quotes and pictures to aid in your students’ ability to learn about this epic war in American and Iraqi history. Please check out the preview.

The fully editable product explains the following: Iraq’s historical background; the rise of Hussein and the Ba’ath Party; Hussein’s (mis)rule of Iraq; the Iran-Iraq war; the invasion of Kuwait; Operation Desert Storm; UN weapons inspections; 9/11 and the War on Terror; George W. Bush, the invasion in 200; the capture, trial and execution of Saddam; the beginnings of insurgency; the new Iraqi government and al-Maliki; the Mahdi Army and Sadr; Al Qaeda in Iraq and Zarqawi, the surge strategy and General Petraeus; the negotiated settlement and evacuation; the rise and fall of ISIS including the death of Baghdadi; the issue of WMD; overall consequences

Included are all the documents (Word and pdf) you need to print off for hard copy or deliver in an e-learning format. This product would fit wonderfully into a blended learning plan or a close read lesson. The product is ideal for individual, or small group work. The product is also great for small-group or class discussion. You can also use this product as a supplement to a class lecture.

I have also created two original maps, which I believe are the best available to teach this topic. One map has a great visual depiction of the advance of Coalition forces in 2003.

12 great review questions are at the end of the reading and of course answer key is included.

If you enjoy this product, please leave a positive comment. Thank you!
