    HUMAN BODY I HAVE/WHO HAS

    Description:

This I Have/Who Has Human Body card game has 16 cards with questions about the parts of the body. Just print on cardstock and cut. Better yet, to make the cards last longer, print, cut and laminate them. Conduct a practice game with our students so they understand how the game works. Tell your students that we will set a timer for 2 minutes, 5 minutes, or whatever, and that they need to finish the game before the timer goes off. As your students get better throughout the year, set the timer to shorter timing. Alternatively, you can time each session and record to monitor your students’ progress.

    Suggestions on how to use/play:

    • Deal out the cards in random to your students.

    • Depending on the number of students in your class, some may get more than one card.

    • Choose a student to start by reading their card aloud (For example: I have TONGUE. Who has the part of our body that contains our brain, eyes, ears, nose and mouth?)

    • The student who has the card with the correct answer to the previous student’s “Who Has...” question reads their card aloud (For example: I have HEAD. Who has the part of our body that we hear sounds with?). And so on.

    • Students must listen carefully for their turn and try not to break the chain.

    • When the chain loops back to the first student, the game is over.

With this human body resource, you get two sheets with the description and suggestion on how to use or play the game. You also get four sheets with four cards each for a total of 16 cards. The cards are arranged in order such that you can easily tell the answer to the questions, but I have also included the Answer Key.

NOTE: This human body resource is NOT EDITABLE. Please see the PREVIEW to see the cards included in this human body resource. This game might be easier for older students so I will recommend for it to be used as motivation or introduction.

HUMAN BODY QR CODE SCAVENGER HUNT

UPDATE: QR codes hosted on Google Drive and used in this resource now have NO pre-set scan limits. May 24, 2020

In search of fun Human Body activities? Engage your students with this fun Human Body QR Code Scavenger Hunt!

Page 3: Materials, Preparation, Activity and Management Tips

    Materials:

    Human Body questions worksheet

    15 QR Code cards

    Tape and scissors

    Preparation:

Print the 15 Human Body QR Code cards on card stock. Make copies of the QR Code Cards questions worksheet (2-sided). Each student will need his or her own copy. Tape the 15 QR Code cards around your classroom where students will be able to find them and scan the QR code with their iPads or tablets. You can put the QR Code cards on the back of your classroom door, on the student desks, on the chalkboard, or wherever you like.

    Activity:

Students receive a copy of the Human Body question worksheet. They have to go around the room with their iPads or tablets and scan all the QR Code cards to answer the questions. After they have completed the question sheet, you can go over the answers together with the class.

    Management tips:

You may want to make this a silent activity so students don't share answers with each other. You can have the kids work alone or with a classmate. Don't be afraid to hide the Human Body QR Code cards in tough places. Students think it's more fun when they have to search around a little.

Have a plan for early finishers. You may want to have a task for them to complete when they're done, or you may have them help other students find the answers to the Human Body questions.

Pages 6-20: QR Code Cards (The cards cover questions on the history, fun facts and celebrations of Human Body.)

Pages 21-36: Answer Key (This is made up of the slides with the questions and answers that students will see when they scan the Human Body QR Codes. The slides were saved as png files and stored in my Dropbox account. These slides were included to make it easier for the teacher to go over the questions and answers with the class.)
