Description

"The Help" is a 2011 drama film based on the novel of the same name by Kathryn Stockett. Set in 1960s Mississippi during the civil rights movement, the film tells the story of Skeeter, a young white woman who decides to write a book about the experiences of black maids working in white households.Skeeter enlists the help of Aibileen and Minny, two black maids who are initially hesitant to speak out but eventually agree to share their stories with her. As they work together to compile the book, Skeeter faces criticism and backlash from her white friends and community, while Aibileen and Minny face their own challenges as they navigate their relationships with their white employers.

Through their collaboration, the three women form a deep bond and challenge the racial and social norms of their time, paving the way for greater understanding and change. The film explores themes of racism, inequality, and the power of storytelling to bring about social change.
