Description
- This is a 25 multiple choice question test on The Great Trouble: A Mystery in London, the Blue Death, and a Boy Called Eel by Deborah Hopkinson.
- Both Word and Pdf documents are included for your editing purposes.
- This test will not evaluate ELA standards, but it will tell you which of your students comprehended the novel. I try to make the majority of my questions "how" or "why" questions, along with quote identification, so that they are not too basic.
How I Do Homework/ Independent Reading: For homework, I assign one novel or a list of novel options (approx. 4-10) for my students to read each month. At the end of the month, I test my students to make sure that they actually read. (Ahem, middle school.)
This book is a great fit for science teachers wanting to promote literacy. When I teach A Christmas Carol, we research the cholera outbreak and public health heroes of Victorian England. To find a book entirely on the outbreak and that focuses so much on germ theory was such a real treat for me!
