Description

This packet includes a Reader's Theatre script that coincides with the book: The Great Graph Contest by Loreen Leedy. There are 11 graphs for students to create that also go along with the book. A final assessment is included in which students draw a graph and write about it. Several optional ideas including a technology idea are included. This Reader's Theatre script introduces students to taking a survey, recording results, creating graphs such as bar graphs, picture graphs, quantity graphs, venn diagrams, and circle graphs. This packet could also be used with an animal classification unit.

Solve one- and two-step “how many more” and “how many less” problems using information presented in scaled bar graphs. For example, draw a bar graph in which each square in the bar graph might represent 5 pets.
