First step:

Listen free of charge to the full cast recording of the award-winning “The Frog Prince.”

After each scene, follow with a discussion and art project.

At the end of eight scenes, students have eight depictions of the action.

Students create a cover for their “Frog Prince” book.

Second step:

Students read from the script playing the characters. Suggestion: whoever wears a crown is the Princess for the moment, Likewise a top hat for the narrator character, scepters for the King and Queen, magic wand for the Fairy Godmother and something of the students’ choice for the Frog Prince.

The song lyrics are in the script so the students can sing along and even incorporate movement to the catchy tunes. Music sheets are available in the singers’ edition as an introduction to the world of sheet music.

This lesson can culminate in a staged performance royalty-free. Group ensembles of “Princesses and Frogs” can be easily incorporated into all musical numbers.
