Description
This farm themed PowerPoint game reviews the concept of fact families. The game includes the following components:
** Round 1: Introduction
**Round 2: Turnaround facts, examples, and practice.
**Round 3: Related subtraction facts, examples, and practice.
**Round 4: How to put turnaround facts and related subtraction facts together to make a fact family.
**Round 5: Ten practice problems. The students will be given three numbers and asked to use them to make a fact family.
**Round 6: The students will be given four number sentences and asked to identify which one doesn't belong in the fact family. This part has five questions.
**Round 7: The students will be given a number sentence and asked to list the other three number sentences that go with the fact family. This round has five questions.
**Round 8:The students will be asked to make a fact family based on the number of animals shown. This round has five questions.
**The Lightening Round: Ten number sentences will flash on the screen one at a time. If the problem is correct, the students will stand up. If it is incorrect, they'll stay seated. This activity can also be done in any other format that the teacher wishes.
This activity can be used as an independent center, team game, or whole group with the students solving the problems on their own and then checking them together as a class. Students can answer the questions on dry erase boards, paper, math journals, etc. The answers follow all of the questions so the students will get instant feedback.
