Description

This is a short lecture originally intended to be an example for my final project. See my bundle if you want the complete project!

This lecture discusses the background, historical context, and significance of hip-hop in 1970s New York. It also includes a primary document of DJ Kool Herc, an early pioneer in the genre, and a works cited page. This lecture could be used in a variety of ways, from demonstrating an exemplar presentation to getting students excited about music history. It could also lead into another activity, such as getting students to make their own presentations on their favorite music, studying the history of the 1970s, or making a creative project like a song or artwork.
