Description

The Data Driven Intervention Guide for STAAR Success
Kindergarten to Third Grade has been created for Educators
and Parents to see the intersection between the TPRI reading
assessment results and available intervention activities.
In addition, this guide charts the relationship between
these activities and the Texas Essential Knowledge and
Skills (TEKS) and the Reporting Categories assessed on the
State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness (STAAR).

The Data Driven Intervention Guide for STAAR Success Kindergarten to Third Grade (The Guide) provides information on the activities in the TPRI Intervention Activities Guide (IAG) and the Florida Center for Reading Research Student Center Activities (FCRR). These two resources describe activities that can be used by teachers for intervention, in workstations, or to enhance lessons. Both contain activities that support development in the five components of reading: phonological awareness, graphophonemic knowledge, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.

We hope that through providing this information, the link
between data and instruction can be clarified and can guide
planning for students’ needs.
