Description

The Color Monster Activity Book is suggested to be used with the book, The Color Monster A Pop-Up Book of Feelings by Anna Llenas. Please purchase the book separately.

This Activity Book includes 9 pages of activities to help students recognize and handle feelings.

To Assemble: This Activity Book requires 3 pieces of paper. Print double sided. First page lay on bottom, 2nd page lay on top of first page, 3rd page lay on top. Fold all three pages in half and staple on left hand side.

Page 1: Recognize the Feeling: Have students use the color that represents that feeling and color a path to the monster. Students will color the facial expression to match each emotion.

Page 2 & 3: Separate and focus on each individual feeling. Students will write or draw examples of each emotion in jars.

Page 4: I-Spy Monster Emotions: Students will count and record how many monsters they see of each emotion.

Page 5: Focus on the Positive: This page is for students to focus on positive emotions and draw 4 pictures of happy thoughts.

Page 6: The Path to Happiness Maze: Students learn they have the power to change a bad day to a good day by using calming strategies.

Page 7: Match the Feeling to the Expression: Draw a line to match feeling to facial expression.

Page 8: How am I Feeling Today? Students color and draw the facial expression on the monster to reflect their current mood.

Page 9: Color the Quote: Discuss with students that all feelings are a normal part of life. Happiness is appreciated more fully after experiencing difficult situations and emotions.
