The Bracero Program and The Zoot Suit Riots during World War II

This lesson will help you provide a more in-depth understanding of the Bracero program that brought many Mexicans to the United States to work in agricultural fields during World War II. Students will also read and learn about the Zoot Suit Riots in Los Angeles in 1943 and the causes and consequences of the riots. Finally, students will look at primary sources newspaper articles for their covering of the events then rate them for their bias and explain their reasoning.
