"The 12 Days of Christmas" Classroom Remix Song & Drawing Activity

Have a blast rewriting the lyrics to the popular Christmas song, "The 12 Days of Christmas"!

Each verse now starts off with: "On the ___ day of Christmas, my teacher gave to me..."

Then in pairs, groups, or on their own, the students come up with what the teacher gave them on that day. They write it on their lyric page and draw a picture on their doodle page, which features blank circles that correlate with the number of the day they have been assigned. The above sample packet features both the lyric page and doodle page for the 1st and 12th day of Christmas.

The last page of this download also features an "answer key" where you can write down their gifts for all 12 days. Make a copy of it for the students, so you can all sing along more easily, rather than having to quickly read every poster as it is held up.

This song is great for younger classes that are still learning how to count. But it's a blast for all ages Pre-K to 12th grade. Consider integrating vocabulary from other subjects like math, language arts, social studies, or science.
