Description

Magic Tree House series book # 27 Thanksgiving on Thursday by Mary Pope Osborne is a great read during November. While this book study may be appropriate for other grades, it is aligned to the 2nd grade Common Core standards listed in the preview file. These activities are designed to supplement your reading instruction while reading the book.

This book study includes:
- 10 comprehension questions for each of the 10 book chapters,
the prologue, and the extra facts in the back. An answer key is
provided for each one.
- Recommended vocabulary list and a vocabulary organizer
There is one activity for each chapter:
-Chapter 1 Tree House Trivia
-Chapter 2 Mayflower Message: nonfiction facts
-Chapter 3 Mayflower Compact: formal/informal language
-Chapter 4 Fishing for Trouble: problems/solutions
-Chapter 5 How to Catch an Eel: procedural writing
-Chapter 6: If Priscilla Wrote a Cookbook: inferring/details
-Chapter 7: Cause and Effect at Plymouth Colony
-Chapter 8: Venn diagram of the Feasts
-Chapter 9: Jack’s Journal
-Chapter 10: Give Thanks
-Culminating Activities: 3 character analysis bubble maps and an
opinion writing organizer
