Thanksgiving on Mars 5-E Holiday Lesson | Primary and Secondary Source | Google
- Google Drive™ folder
Description
This lesson explores Thanksgiving customs and connects the holiday with your Science & Social Studies curriculum standards. The activities are engaging for students & the guided, 5-E format is easy for you to use! Begin with a “Say Something…” warm-up, then review the differences between primary and secondary sources of information. Next, students imagine it is the year 2038 and they live in the first American colony on Mars. Challenge them to identify primary and secondary sources for Martian children to learn more about Thanksgiving holiday traditions on Earth. Then, they identify example sources for Earthlings to reference about how colonists on Mars celebrate Thanksgiving Day. Creativity is encouraged! A fill-in rubric is included for easy grading. Print & interactive, digital versions of the materials are included. Made for traditional in-class learning or digital 1:1 classrooms. Everything you need is included!
