Description

Are your students struggling to remember all the different text and graphic features? This Thanksgiving text features activity is fun, festive and perfect for fall. You'll get both digital and printable options that are perfect to use as a whole class activity, text features review, or even as an independent center. Your 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade students will love this engaging activity!

How Does It Work?

Your students will read each of the 10 clue cards that describe different text features (glossary, index, caption, map, etc.) After reading the clue, they'll decide which text feature is being described and write their answer on the corresponding Thanksgiving dinner dish.

If you're using the printable version, you'll also get a fun craft extension activity. Students can then color in all their Thanksgiving foods and create their own dinner plate craft for your classroom or hallway display!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Kelly S. said, "I cannot say enough great things about this resource! I had students complete the Google Classroom activity and then complete the plate / placemat using their GC answers. This was a week long station activity and they loved it. We did the first one together so that they could understand the "clues" and then they were independent from there. I did allow struggling students to work with others for peer support. Again, great review resource in preparation for our unit test."

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Natalie S. said, "Such a cute activity to do right before Thanksgiving break to review all the text features we had been learning about. "

Thanksgiving week does not have to mean instruction stops! This activity is perfect to keep students engaged but also review or learn key core curriculum! Throw on some nice music, let your students work through the clues, and watch as they have a BLAST creating their own Thanksgiving dinner plates. Make sure to add this resource to your cart!
