Thanksgiving Planner-Life Skills, Social-Emotional, Interest-Based, Adults

Students will learn life skills and social-emotional skills by creating this interest-based Thanksgiving Day Feast! Introduce the unit by discussing the Timeline Idea sheets and then assist with the Brainstorm Sheet. Students will then need to do research to plan and organize for: groceries, decorations, games, shopping lists, cooking schedules, and more. This project is student-led with teacher assistance.

This Thanksgiving Planner is designed to help adults organize Thanksgiving Day events, but also provides real-world experience for middle school and high school students. It will also help any adult plan the perfect Thanksgiving Day Feast at home.

This is a great project for students to present those last few days before Thanksgiving Break! Students can work in groups or individually. It can also serve as an incentive for the students to do interviews with the adults in their family for guidance. The goal is that students will discover how much planning and effort goes into a Thanksgiving Day Celebration.
