Thanksgiving Melodic Reading Activity {Sol-Mi}

Looking for a fun, engaging way to practice melodic concepts with your students (especially before Thanksgiving)? This set includes:

*A slideshow with stick notation for sol-mi, including the rhythms ta and ti-ti. You can view the PDF like a slideshow by going to "view," then "full screen." The slideshow comes with a title page with 12 cute turkey images. Either throw a squishy or koosh ball at your SMART board, or have students tap the picture of their choice, and read that pattern! Each picture will bring up a different slide.

*A slideshow just like the one above, but with staff notation

*A reading assessment with directions: This can be done in learning centers. Students sing one of five patterns individually to the teacher, written in stick notation; a rubric is included!
