Thanksgiving Cooking Simulation | Engaging Thanksgiving Activity

Description
This no-prep, game-based Thanksgiving Cooking Simulation will be a fun activity for the last day of school before Thanksgiving! In this Thanksgiving activity with printable and digital options, students will "prepare" many different Thanksgiving dishes and make decisions about ingredients, cooking times, cooking tools, and more in the process!
Simulations can be such fun and meaningful activities, but they often take a lot of work and preparation to set up, which is why we did all of the work for you! You don't need to cut, purchase, or set-up anything to do this simulation, simply present the slideshow to your students and copy or share the handout with them.
This simulation features nine different rounds. In each round, students must make a decision about preparing a certain Thanksgiving dish or roll the dice to see how their cooking experience goes. The nine rounds are:
- Last-Minute Shopping
- The Night Before Thanksgiving
- Time to Start Cooking
- Baking Pie
- Making Mashed Potatoes
- Preparing the Turkey
- Preparing the Gravy
- Making the Green Bean Casserole
- It's Time to Eat!
The slides that facilitate the simulation are organized and take students step-by-step through the entire process. Throughout the simulation, students will calculate how many points they have earned. Finally, the slideshow ends with some optional discussion questions you can use at the end of the simulation.
