Thanksgiving BUNDLE

*A Turkey's Troubles: A Persuasive Thanksgiving Writing Activity
Have you ever thought about what a turkey might say to prospective grocery shoppers right before Thanksgiving? With this Thanksgiving writing activity, that's exactly what students will do. They'll have to write from the perspective of a fictitious turkey who is trying to convince a grocery shopper to choose a different turkey for Thanksgiving dinner.

Depending on the planner and rubric you choose (two of each are included), students will have to think of two or three convincing reasons to explain to the shopper along with details supporting each reason. The rubric covers basic writing requirements– ideas and details, word choice, and conventions. You may choose to use a different rubric for your specific needs.

*Say It Game:
This Thanksgiving Game is a great game for vocabulary development and can be used in many grades, with staff or for Thanksgiving gatherings. It can be a fun center activity and a lot of fun for the whole class. Say It encourages students to practice their oral language and vocabulary skills by racing against the clock to explain the Thanksgiving-related word at the top of the card. They are not allowed to use any of the forbidden words underneath it. This makes it a bit more tricky but encourages thought and creativity when describing the word.

Set up it easy. Just make copies, laminate them (if you want), and break students into groups. Then students use the cards to play. Directions are included.

*Fast-Thinking Game:

This is a set of 5 colorful Thanksgiving sticker charts. Each chart has 20 spaces for stickers and has a line where student names can be written. There are 4 charts per page. You can use them as a positive behavior tool, homework tracking, or for any other reason that works for you.They add a little pizzazz to the classroom right when you need it!

These are small enough to be used on top of student desks, or they can be displayed somewhere in the classroom. Otherwise, put them in any place that works best for you. Each of the 27 pages has four sticker charts on it with spaces for 20 stickers.
